Come Forward

This picture started at the National Press Photographers Association:

What the Executive Director of the NPPA failed to tell anyone is that this picture is entered into the "The Best of Photo Journalism 2009". Then Associated Press' photo department who now holds the copyright to the picture stated they received it for free. The question was who was the photographer that took the picture. As one can see Roxana's name is at the bottom and there is no photographer listed.

Since Roxana was sent into Iran as the Bureau Chief for Feature News Story without a camera crew. It has been stated that she used local people to do any of the live filming for either "PBS News Hour with Jim Lear" or "Fox News Channel"and "NPR".

Someone stated that since Roxana had been in Iran for 6 years that the picture was a portrait of her taken during that time. If that was the case then why doesn't the photographer put his name on the picture.

This picture was taken after she was taken into custody. Just like Haleh Esfandiari picture. Not to mention Jill Carroll picture when the area carpet had a flower that was centered around her head and she wasn't crying. This picture was taken after the picture of Jill crying and the carpet was not aligned.

The idea of Roxana being in a green scarf and that the Iranians continue to state they are Persians. Sura 18 :31 is in reference to the Persians as "they were green robes of fine silk and thick brocade". This wealth is to become the Muslims after they conquer the Persians.

For anyone to think that this picture was innocently taken is surely mistaken. For the Associated Press to continue to allow this picture to be used and take copyright for any money made on it is nothing less than a sin against humanity.

The NPPA should take that picture down. Admit they made a mistake in putting it out into the internet and ask everyone to quit using it.

The only person who gets gratification from this picture is the local photographer who remains unknown. The idea that this picture is "just a contest" is grossly in need of a moral conscience.

In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful

Allah's commandment will come to pass, so seek not to hasten it. Glory be to Him, and highly exalted be He above what they associate (with him)!

Allah is the Master of the Day of Requital.
